My father had a heart attack, when he left the hospital we were 'strong armed to take Gentiva health care from the hospital. They had a hospital bed and a wheelchair delivered to our house and charge my mom for that-that is illegal-he wsa under hsopice care and they should not have ben charge for those.

They insisted that he get the most uncormfortable and terrible bed with some kind of an inflatable top,then insisted that he could only eat this food with thickener. We had bad feelings about them (thank goodness() and quickly got another company who ordered him a real hospital bed that makes him comfortable, and they also showed us how he could drink liquids without havign the thickener. he felt terrible not being allowed t odrink water. He has been drinking water now for almost a week slowly, no problems and he looks and feels so much better becuase he has a comfortable bed now.

Gentiva wants to kill the patient quick so they can collect more money. Then they have a nurse come to your house and spend time talking to you about how you are doing the right thing going with them and then they ask you about your family life and try to act like they are consoling you. I told them I talk about my family with my family, it is none of their business, they are supposed to be nurses.

Then they tell you they will be there for you 24-7, when I tried to call them to come over they make excuses and tell you to give the patient morphine so they can have you try to basically kill them as fast as possible.They are a death machine.. and this is legal???DO NOT ever use them

I am so sorry for your experience but I am crying reading your review because this same experience happened to our family. They said I was difficult to work with because I had my friends and family to talk to and didn't rely on them.

I didn't trust them.

I didn't return the social workers call - they don't know me and I don't need their guidance -when I did not talk to the social worker except for advising her of dr. Appts., the CEO told our Gentiva team not to return my phone calls.
